So I haven't posted anything on my blog in almost a year. Sorry about that. However, at the behest of my dear mother, I am posting this blog to show pictures of my recently completed work, "Stack #1" and it's subsequent showing in the BYU Annual Student Show. This year I also got a talent award (not related to the show, but related to Visual Arts) and I will be getting $600ish to go to classes this summer. Pretty sweet deal. So this piece of art I made consists of over 20 hand blown glass bowls and balls that I made myself. I then drilled a hole in the bottom so it could slide down on a metal armature I had made (that's what enables this thing to be even part way stable). I put foam pipe insulation between each addition to cushion it and filled the base with colored resin. To top it off, I set a nut in a glass piece I had made and screwed it on to the top of the metal armature. This holds all the pieces on, but allows for it to be dismantled in case I need to move it or something. Well, I hope everybody enjoys this.
